I am not aware if Translution works for laser technology as well as for inkjet so I don't know if we are talking about the same paper. I know that in inkjet terms speaking there are some differences between dye inks and pigment inks. Pigment inks dry much faster as dye inks and can end up in a sharper image where dye inks may look a little blurry in comparison therefore. Yes, FF inks may be the missing part for you.

Luis, it is always interesting to see pictures from comparison tests as you have done so feel free to post it.

Here is also a link to a possible helpful posting with pictures regarding the black garment version of Translution.

Hi Jan:

Here is the link to the comparison photo. The photos were taken before wash.

The reason I made a comment about Translution for dark may have the same issue as IronAll for dark because according to Todd at ColorStarInk (Translution Vendor) that Translution for dark is another brand name of IronAll for dark. Yes IronAll for dark transfer paper will work with laser printer. NewMilfordPhoto was the company that discovered it. I can give the Oki printer setup I used. It took me two tries.

Incidentally, I was googling for FabricFast and I found Steve Liker's email address and the site mentioned about free sample package. I sent him an email. Hope that is enough to get him to send me a sample package.

Ok Luis, Let me know what happen next.

Your Oki laser against Epson inkjet test:
There is one important issue we did not mentioned in this whole thing but what can make the whole difference and that is the color management.

You will need for sure a new ICC profile for the Epson in order to achieve better results. That you can print with all inks on a certain paper (we say the same from the Translution) is a beautifully theory but last but not least everything comes down on the ICC profile used and the color management.

That rule is the same of course for the OKI but in this case I would say that the profile used fits per accident better as the Epson profile.

Don't you think so?

I agree that profile makes a difference but the printer settings as it is works fine with transfer for light. A tshirtForums member who have been doing transfers for ages (BADALOU) said the same thing about washed out look of transfer for dark using inkjet printer.

Yes, I am still not convinced and think this need to be tested to get to the bottom. Inkjet is not like Inkjet taking the various type of inks and different substrates of the papers in consideration.

I would setup a more comprehensive test just to ensure we compare apple with apple.

Re:Inkjet Versus Laser Printers 3 Months, 1 Week ago
Luis,

Just noticed that there is still a lot of misunderstanding about who or what is the original name of the best transfer paper on the market today. As you mentioned all the others who sell the same paper under other brandnames and even what (BADELOU) say about it this may help.

Go back in time and remember when you first heared about one or more of the other brands. Then read the article below (Link) which is from January 2007

Translution Transfer Paper has been launched January 2007

If you then also keep in mind that we at PDG evaluated the early releases of the Translution paper long before this article was published and the paper was official launched.
