In comparison to ink jets, laser printers are quieter, faster and remarkably hassle free. But is that makes them stand out?

Please feel free to put your opinion here or why you are using a laser printer, ink jet printer or both.

Laser does not clog, cheaper cost per print and in my opinion is more durable than inkjet. The transfer paper for laser also for the most part is cheaper than inkjet papers.

I absolutely agree a laser printer is more hassle free and it is probably much faster but I doubt that the cost per print is cheaper. Probably if using the original cartridges but not by using a CIS system and especially not if you need printers beyond a Letter format.

Laser toner contains nothing what can bond with fabric fibers. Durability hereby can only be reached by using transfer paper that have proven substrates containing the necessary binders.

Or you need a post treatment, laminating or whatsoever but that will make the soft-hand not much better.

This counts for most inks for inkjet as well but there you have the choice of using inks such as ff pigments which contain binders to give the print an additional durability even if the paper substrate is not the best.

Ah but I did mention heat transfer paper for laser. I use Imageclip which is self weeding. It is a two step paper but it is worth the extra step when there is no polymer window issue compared to some inkjet transfer paper. No need to explain to the customer that the window will get softer after wash or the polymer will become lesser after few more washes. Although inkjet paper has technically evolve and it is catching up.

I pay $0.62 per pair of Imageclip which is a lot less than some inkjet paper.

Incidentally, will the FabricFast work by itself without heat transfer paper? Let's say DTG. I have been reading that DTG user and maker are finding out that additional pretreatment is needed even for light color. I think US Screenprint is selling the pretreatment. Is FF ink made by the same people that made Translution? What is the cost of CMYK set?

I have C88+ and would like to try FabricFast if it is recommended for that model.

Sorry, I do not mean to be arguementative. It is just my opinion and I know others will disagree.

Have you tried to figure out the breakdown on how much cheaper with CIS for full bleed print? Epson claims with OEM cartridge a set of CMYK will cover a few hundred pages but when I printed full bleed image I was only able to print very few pages(less than 20) and the cartridges were already empty. At $37.00 or more for CMY set it gets to be very expensive.
