Need pretreated fabric for direct to fabric printing? (1 viewing) (1) Guest
With some printers you can print right on the fabric itself. No need to reverse the image and it's faster, cheaper, and more effective? There are other boards for more specific help on DTG issues but you need to log-in to view them ALL!

Need pretreated fabric for direct to fabric printing? 5 Months, 1 Week ago
If printing with FabricFast Ultra pigment inks you don't need to pretreat the fabric, you can print on all kinds of untreated materials however; pretreatments can occasionally improve the final results. This is not only for the FabricFast but for every other pigment ink.

e.g. Dark tones (like blacks) will print darker, more vividness and wash fastness can be improved.

But again it is an option; in most cases you do not need a pretreatment if printed with the FF inks.

To read more about the subject optional coating read this to....

Any other type of ink developed for printing direct to fabric require pre- as well as post treatment, such as reactive, acid or disperse inks.
