looking for ironable washable transfres 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hello to all

I was referred to this site by one of the t-shirt members

I was looking for a heat transfer that is washable and ironable and heavy duty and can be fixed on my garments which is made of light cotton.

Some people recommended plastisol transfers then others said that it will not withstand washing in hot water (60 C ) and ironing.

So any one can help me in this?

How can i fix my logo which is small in size on a light cotton fabric and withstands ironing and washing?

What technology i should be using?
What tools do i need ? i just have my heat press machine?

Best Regards

ziad

The newer transfer papers available today are definitely good enough to wash and iron. Of course there are two different papers, one for light colored shirts and one for dark. Cutting is required on both which I do by hand but there are automatic cutters that do a good job. Translution paper would meet your needs nicely.

Translution is a brand name, there are many others under different names but they are really the same. If you have your press, all you need is a printer and some transfer paper. If you are starting from the beginning then you will have to experiment with color, this depends on your printer and the inks you use. What I mean is, you might need to print tests to get the right saturation and correct hue.If you check here, http://www.piedmont-digital-graphics.com/inkjet-vs.-laser/toner/inkjet-versus-laser-printers.html
When it comes to software i prefer Adobe product. I like Photoshop for the rastered images and Illustrator for the vectored.

Thanks a lot

With your help ,, I am getting closer
To sum up what I understood:
So I still need my heat press ( which I already have)
+ Translution Papers
+A printer
+ Photoshop and illustrator software (which I already have)

And I have 2 options for the printer, either the inkjet or the colored laser printer
(To work economically I guess the laser printer should be a letter size which is much cheaper than bigger sizes)
The question is the following (which I really could not conclude from what I have read)
Do we have 2 types of Translution Papere ? one for inkjet printers and one for laser printers?
I looked in www.piedmont-digital-graphics.com they only mentioned the word Translution Papere nothing about laser or inkjet Translution Papere !!
And Which one is more durable ? specially ironability and washablity
So i can decide which printer to buy, i know inkjet printers are much cheaper than laser but if laser gives better quality and durability , i will go ahead with a laser one.

Who produces the best quality Translution Paperes ? PDG seems very good and very supportive ,, do i have to search for other suppliers?

Best regards

Ziad, Translution transfer paper is available directly here at this website. There are more places where you can buy the paper, price compare and the place where you can get the best support should give you the answer on where you should buy.

The paper is designed for inkjet printing and can be used on any inkjet using any inkjet inks.

We do had response from a user who have used the paper on a laser printer but we at PDG do not have tested this nor we have proofs.

All inkjet inks (also dye-based inks) can be used on this paper where pigment based inks are given the best results due to faster drying getting sharper images.

The FabricFast Ultra inks are the best choice for the pigment inks because it a. contain binders to bond the colors with the fabric and b. the vibrant colors.

Again, the paper is designed for inkjet prints and if it works with laser as well then only because the excellent coating of the paper. Don't forget that laser toner do not have anything included to bond with the fabric such as the binders within the FF inks.
