Would translution paper leave a lot ink on paper after heat transfer? I had a problem with the ink not sticking completely, and with too much ink staying on the transfer paper.

Just a guess, but if the paper you use is designed to work for all (light and dark) shirt colors can make a difference? May be it is an ink matter and not the paper? I would try more heat and set longer press time.

Someone suggested to turn the temp to 400, and to press for a few seconds more. , and in addition, he did not peel it immediately but rubbed the backing down with an old, clean peace of fabric, and then peeled, and he claimed it worked perfectly. The paper is a bit harder to peel off, but ink should transfer almost completely. I did not try that yet by myself so let me know if it helps you in anyway.
