I am very happy with the soft-hand after printing but some customers still need an explanation that the soft-hand improves even more after a first washing. Would it makes a difference if using Teflon sheet?

No, Teflon or alternatively a sheet of parchment baking paper (from the grocery store) is very good to prevent the transfer sticking to the platen.
To get an initial soft-hand after transfer just stretch the transferred area in both directions. Note: Do this only if the print is still hot!
Have always a washed t-shirt ready to show customers the finished end-product may be a good idea s well.
