See the FabricFast press release so why do we talk about a pretreatment. Every traditional screen printer will tell us that all pretreated fabrics; equally what dye, fabric and print process is used, will improve the saturation of the inks as well as the wash and crock fastness of the fabric. Digitally textile printing processes are not differently here and every ink and fabric combination can be improved by adding an for that combination specially formulated pre- or post treatment to the print. In case of the Trident's FabricFast™ Ultra Inks we have the Optichem™ pretreatment optional available. Bottom line is to decide for yourself and from print to print; If you want to be able to print on numerous untreated fabrics then the water based pigments are the only way to go. No hassle with steaming after printing, a good color gamut and very good wash and crock fastness properties. If you need even more you can use occasionally the Optichem™ as a pretreatment in order to get the maximum out of your prints.
