The Shadow brook restaurants in Capitola has been around for a long time and now I can understand why! We went for lunch on Friday and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Something about the interior was very relaxing and attractive. The curved brick ceiling made it feel like a basement restaurant in Europe but the entire wall of windows along that street adjacent to the Shadow brook Capitola kept the room light.
We shared a sand dab stuffed with lobster to start and then a pork tenderloin dish with cheddar mashed potatoes and greens. A huge portion of the lunch menu had fish as an entree choice and I did not feel like two fish dishes. My friend had paella with guinea hen. All of the food was absolutely delicious, with great texture, flavor and presentation. I had two sizable glasses of a white wine, I believe it was Bordeaux Blanca, Chateau Hat Rain, which the waiter from the Shadow brook Capitola recommended as a pair for both my dishes. We would have tried dessert but just couldn’t manage to eat more food at the moment.
I would gladly go back to the Shadow brook restaurant Capitola in a heartbeat! Lunch came to $100, (I believe that was before tip). They were full for lunch and it seemed everyone had reservations. There were a few large tables of 8-12 people. I wish we lived closer…
