Check valve solution
Home made check valve

Check valve (custom made):

The design of this custom made check valve allows a certain amount of waste ink remains in the tube which give an airtight seal between the valve an the pump. The amount of ink remains is enough to extend the dry process, avoid air in to the tube and therefore avoid clogging the pump.

After longer time without using the printer only the outlet of the valve can be possible clogging but the pump should not have much problem to remove this after a first start. If the clogging for some reasons still remains than it is easily to remove it by pressing the tube between your fingers without the need using syringes.

The picture shows how to modify the tube in order to create that check valve and does not need to much more explanation. Click on the picture to enlarge.

A version for desk top printers is available here

Hope this helps and if you like to try it out as I do it is highly appreciated if you come back to share your personal experiences in this.
