This simple, easy to make tool helps you to save time, ink and flush solution. In addition it ensure the ink tubes are filled with ink in stead of air. Prefer using this tool above the automatic ink exchange options found in the controll panel when you prime or clean the ink system from your wide format printer.
It allows you easy access to the needle to flush or prime the system from there.
Take an used cartridge and open the cover.
Take the empty bag out of the cardtridge.
Cut the nozzle carefully out of the old bag. The part of the nozzle that goes into the bag is about a half inch, cut arround that part to keep it in tact.
Attache a tubing on the backside of the nozzle using an adapter for serniges and a hot glue pistol to ensure airtight.
Place the nozzle, with the tube attached, back in his original position of the cartridge.
The cover will keep the nozzle later in place.
Drill a hole in the top-backside of the cartridge to lead the tube trough.
Attache an adapter on the end of the tube for easy handling with seringes, close the cover and the tool is ready to use.
To use this tool, place it in to a slot from the machine, attache a seringe filled with ink, cleaning flush or distelled water to prime or clean the lines. For Mimaki users: Remember that remaining ink in the line will automatically fow to the cartridge if you remove the damper. Placing this tool into the empty slot before removing the damper avoid ink dropping into the slot and finally makes the mess on the ground.
