Has your printer suddenly stopped working and the Status Monitor given you a "Maintenance Error" or "Parts inside your machine have reached the end of their service life" message or If a Waste Ink Pad Overflow Protection Error has occured? - You can buy a Service Manual, which is not included with the purchase of your printer (e.g. do a search at Google for a service manual shop) along with the Epson SSC Service Utillity. You can use these items to fix most issues.
- For ink overflow reset, instead of replacing the ink pads, wash them out and dry them thoroughly before re using them. It's much cheaper than replacing your printer - which is what your local dealer will probably recommend - adding that it's too costly to fix.
- If you do not want to go to your service center and you do not want to replace the waste ink pads by yourself you can reset the waste ink counters by using the SSC Service Utillty because the warnings about this iisue comes for most printers far to soon. If you however use the utillity please be absolutely sure the message was to soon and a reset can be done without the risk ink flows through dangerous parts of the printer.
- If you have followed our advise however than you probably have installed an external waste ink bottle and if you have done this directly after you purchased the printer the waste ink pads are still as new regardless of how many times you need to reset the counters keeping your printer healthy all times.
